Gannett Names Richard Jensen Publisher of Public Opinion in Chambersburg, PA
McLEAN, VA – Richard J. Jensen has been named president and publisher of the Public Opinion in Chambersburg, PA. He previously was executive editor of the Press & Sun-Bulletin in Binghamton, NY. “Rick Jensen is a journalist with a depth of experience at some of Gannett’s best newspapers. I am pleased to welcome him to the rank of publisher,” said Gary Watson, president of Gannett’s Newspaper Division. Jensen joined Gannett in 1974 and held reporting and editing positions at newspapers in Ithaca, NY; Rochester, NY; Rockford, IL; Niagara Falls, NY; Utica, NY and Binghamton, NY. He also worked at the Baltimore (MD) News-American. Jensen received a Bachelor of Journalism degree in 1974 from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He is married and has two children.
He succeeds John W. Mason, who resigned to pursue other interests.
